The ability to brew potions is an aspect of the game that will massively improve your survival experience. You can brew and use potions in many dangerous situations that would otherwise end up in death. The Ars Elixirum mod is here to completely overhaul the potion brewing experience.

Using the new brewing pot workstation, you will be able to brew up potions using ingredients that you find in your world. Start off by placing the pot on a heat generating block, like magma block or a campfire. Add a bucket of water into the pot. Once the water starts boiling, you can add a variety of different fruits, vegetables and other regular vanilla potion brewing recipes. Once you have added enough ingredients, you can collect the potion using an empty glass bottle.

The menu screen of the mod can be opened using an unset keybind. Set the keybind using the keybind settings and then press it while inside the game to open the mod menu. From here, you can save and share potion recipes. You can also view a short guide on how to use the mod.

The recipe required to prepare a specific potion changes from world to world. This means the ingredients required to craft a potion will be different as you change from world to world. It is your task, as the player, to find out the correct ingredients required to prepare a potion via trial and error.

The mod also adds a collection of totems. These totems work similar to the totem of undying, but will also give the player some special effects upon activation.
