NetherEx Mod

NetherEx, short for Nether Expansion, introduces new content into the Nether dimension. This mod goes above and beyond to revamp the Nether dimension, introducing new biomes, mobs, blocks, and items, all carefully designed to provide a fresh and captivating gameplay experience.

First and foremost, the mod introduces some biome variety into the Nether. This dimension, in the 1.12.2 version, is nothing but a jagged, hard-to-navigate wasteland made of netherrack. The introduction of new biomes that feature their own new terrain blocks helps add detail to the nether.

As you explore through the new Nether biomes, some new Nether exclusive features are expected to catch your attention. You will come across a new mob that has a spinning animation. Get closer to them to find out more. You will also notice some white vine like plant growing on the Nether ceiling. Some small, but detailed, structures will also be generated here and there.

Last, but not the least, the most noticeable change introduced by this mod - better terrain generation. You will notice that the Nether now has land masses that appear to be layered islands. Each island can be a different biome than the one above or below it. Nevertheless, this new terrain is much more fun to explore than the vanilla jagged terrain.
