Sapling Tweaks Mod

Saplings are an integral part of growing trees in Minecraft. Once you chop down all the logs from a tree, the remaining leaves will slowly break off one by one. Upon breaking, some leaves drop apples, others drop sticks, while some others drop saplings. In the vanilla game, this is one of most convenient ways of obtaining saplings to grow more trees.

The Sapling Tweaks mod is here with a much easier, more convenient way of obtaining saplings in large quantities.

This mod basically adds crafting recipes that allow you to craft or duplicate saplings. The recipes are given in the image below. The first recipe allows you to craft saplings using a few sticks and a log. The wood variant of the log determines the sapling variant obtained. Using a spruce log in the recipe will allow you to craft a spruce sapling.

The second recipe basically allows you to crossbreed saplings. By combining one bonemeal and one sapling, you get three saplings of the same kind in return. 

Although azalea plants do not actually count as saplings, they have the ability to grow into azalea trees. And for that reason, this mod adds crafting recipes for azalea plants too. Recipes are added for both regular and flowering azalea variants.
