RedHat Shaders

The RedHat shader pack is an edit of the popular Chocapic13 shader pack. This pack aims to provide visuals that are vibrant and crisp. To better showcase the quality of this packs, all screenshots showcased in this article were taken in combination with the Patrix 32x resource pack.

The first notable visual aspect of the pack is the distant fog. In dense forests and such, the fog appears to fade out anything that is more than 10-15 blocks away from you. But this fog, in no way, obstructs your vision. Areas that are far away from you will still be visible.

The image below shows how fog affects vision based on distance. Due to compatibility issues, we had to disable volumetric lighting for this article. If you can manage to make it work, the visuals will look even better.

Water effects introduced by this pack are realistic and well complements the other visual elements. But there is nothing much that makes it notable or unique compared to other shader packs.

A tiny ocean island and a pond

The pack gives decent performance on even mid-end PCs from our testing. The pack offers high levels of customization options that players can tweak to their liking. Custom made presets are available for Very Low, Low, Mid and High end settings. This helps players increase or decrease the shader effects with a click.

When it comes it the Nether dimension, this pack makes the environment a lot darker. This makes the light emitting blocks stand out. While vision is not fully obstructed by the lack of lighting, you will still need to carry around torches for convenience.

The End sky now has a pink-purple shade. There is no notable changes to the End other than this. You will also notice that a purple tint is applied to everything.
