Shrimple Shaders

The Shrimple shader pack introduces some advanced shader effects into the game. This includes effects like Cascaded Shadow Mapping, Ray Traced Shadows, Parallax Occlusion Mapping, etc. These words might sound complicated and confusing. But as a player, you need to be concerned of only two main things - visual aesthetics & game performance.

You will notice phenomena like light sources producing shiny reflections on block surfaces. This is called Specular Mapping, a high-end shader effect utilized by this pack. Light reacts with the environment in a very realistic manner.

Across different times of the day, you will notice the sun light reacting to the environment in unique ways. In the Nether, you will notice the bloom effect on glowing blocks. Effects like these make this shader pack an optimal choice for capturing beautiful screenshots.

The Nether fog is now a lot more intense at certain areas. Smoke from lava might obstruct your view, otherwise the overall visibility in the nether has been improved.

From the description above, it is very clear that the pack has been designed for mid-end to high-end systems. You can still configure the shader pack settings to make the pack run well on low-end devices. But the compromise in the visual aesthetics is not worth it, and you will be better off opting for a low-end pack.
