Flows HD Texture Pack

Minecraft has thousands of resource packs that are free for anyone to install and use in their game. But out of these, a handful of packs remain the crowd favorite. Unfortunately, this also means that a lot of good quality packs that deserve attention, go unnoticed.

Flows HD Revival is one such underrated resource pack.

Features

At a resolution of 128x, this pack offers high quality visuals that are a lot more sharper and crisper than the vanilla 64x textures. The high pixel count has been well utilized by the creator to give all building blocks a realistic appearance.

Blocks like bricks, stones, planks, etc. have textures with added depth onto them. The two-dimensional textures appear to be three-dimensional at a quick glance, making it look like the surfaces had actual 3D textures on them. The flat 2D appearance can be noted only upon closer inspection.

Not just blocks, even the flora in the game have received a texture overhaul. The 128x resolution is well utilized here too in order to make planks look more detailed. Tree leaves now look a lot more denser compared to the vanilla texture, that is semi-transparent.

Game Performance

A resolution of 128x means the game has to load four times more pixels than the vanilla 64x textures. But surprisingly, the usage of this texture pack does not have a heavy impact on game performance. Unless you have a system that is very old, the game must run at somewhat decent framerates.

The pack is well optimized and if you have a mid-end to high-end PC, you need not worry about performance issues while using this pack.

The Nether

The pack makes noticeable changes to textures in the Nether dimension as well. All blocks have received new well detailed 128x textures. The most noticeable change is that, blocks that are supposed to flow, now actually appear a lot brighter. Take a look at the images below for example.
