Torch Hit! Mod

Minecraft allows you to hold items in both your hands. While the main-hand holds a tool or a weapon, the off-hand can hold either a shield or it can hold torches.

What goes into the off-hand depends on the context. In battle situations, it is preferred to hold a shield in your off-hand, but while exploring dark areas, it is preferred to hold torches to light up your surroundings.

But what if enemies are attack you from all sides at night-time? Do you hold a shield or torches in your off-hand? The Torch Hit! mod is here to make torches a lot more useful in combat scenarios.

With this mod installed, you can hit mobs with a torch to light them on fire. Torches not only helps you see better in the dark, but also acts as a weapon that can deal continuous damage to enemies.

The best part of this feature is the ability to replicate the effects of the Fire Aspect Enchantment, an enchantment which allows you to light enemies on fire by striking them with an enchanted weapon.

With this mod installed, you can hold a weapon in your main-hand and torches in your off-hand. Striking the enemy with the sword will light the enemy on fire, as if it were enchanted with Fire Aspect.

This feature further extends to mobs like pigs and cows, which are commonly farmed for food. You can replicate the Fire Aspect effect to light mobs on fire and kill them, in order for them to drop cooked food, which gives more saturation effect than their uncooked counterparts.
