Balm Mod

Balm is an API and Abstraction mod for developing Fabric and Minecraft Forge mods. It was created to mod for both while leaving the loader internals behind and focusing on instead creating mods without worrying about the internals of each loader, which can be easily ignored. This mostly provides access to loader-specific calls. It is similar to architecture.

It is mostly designed for blaytheninth and are All Rights Reserved, so using it may be hard. The author mostly did it as a test run for supporting multiple platforms and did not suggest modders use it for their stuff because it often breaks compatibility. The source code is also not public. This is only needed for 1.17.1 and newer. It is important to note that like similar tools (such as Architectury, Porting Lib, FeatureCreep, and others, this does not let you play Fabric mods on Forge and Vice Versa but is instead a tool to make developing for both easier). The dev made their own mod to do this so they would not have to rely on one of the existing ones staying strong.

There is also some networking and config. If you are on Fabric, you will need Cloth Config.
