Botany Trees is an add-on for Botany Pots that allows you to add saplings to pots, including vanilla ones. This is different from Botany Pots, which by default does not let you plant much, while Botany Trees lets you plant saplings from Vanilla and a variety of mods to add new ways to harvest wood. You plant a sapling, it starts out small and then get bigger over time. You can make the trees grow faster using bone meal. When the trees grow they do not change appearance, they just scale to a bigger size. Once the tree finishes growing, it adds wood to the Inventory for the pot and then waits a few seconds and then starts over (though you may need to right-click the pot to make it reset. But in general, it is a much easier and quicker way to get renewable wood.

Botany Trees is good for automating tree planting and you do not need to manually look for saplings or destroy the wood or use axes. Just sit and it will grow put the wood in the inventory where you can pick it up later.
