From blocks that may crack, moss or become sandy over time, to other rusting iron blocks and more! Explore a collection of many features that makes the world age with you.

Plenty of elements in the game remain constant for the entirety of time. For example, in real-life iron objects would rust over time. But iron blocks in Minecraft do not rust ever. Building blocks can crack, get mossy, or dirty over time in real-life, but in Minecraft, they remain the same forever. The aspect of things changing over times is widely ignored in Minecraft. But not anymore! The Immersive Weathering mod is here to do just that.

Using the recipe given above, you will be able to convert your regular iron blocks into a new type. This new type of iron block has its own slab, stair, and and cut variants. The appearance of this block is slightly dull compared to the vanilla iron block and appear to have a decent amount of detailing on them.

The new iron block discussed above will oxidize and rust over time, similar to the vanilla copper oxidization process. There are four stages of rusting and you can lock any oxidation stage by waxing them. Other iron items like iron bars, doors and trapdoors will rust over time too.

The vanilla game offers you mossy variants for blocks like cobblestone and stone bricks. They allow you to detail builds by giving them an aged, overgrown appearance. But the moss growth has to faked. This mod makes it so that blocks like stone, cobblestone, bricks, and other masonry blocks will slowly grow moss on them if exposed to water or other mossy blocks.

Brick and stone based blocks can develop cracks over time when exposed to extreme heat sources like fire or lava. The cracked block variations expand far beyond the limited cracked block options provided by the vanilla game.

Just like how water promotes moss growth onto blocks, placing blocks in desert environments can cause them to accumulate sand on them over time. You will find the cracks and crevices within these blocks filled with sand. The mod also introduces a new dry plant called the "dune bush", exclusive to hot biomes.

As you explore through your world, you will come across new soil types like humus and loam. Certain areas that are supposed to be filled with dirt will now be replaced by these new blocks depending on the environment. Some of them are biome-specific and they might affect plant growth too.

A new type of block and related crystal can be found forming when lightning strikes sand blocks. This new block, called "fulgurite" appears to be a solid block, but upon closer inspection, you can observe that certain parts of the block are translucent, meaning they are treated as "transparent" in redstone terms.

If you have a chimney in your house that is used regularly, you would know that a dark, greasy substance called "soot" accumulate along the chimney walls. This mod replicates just that. Soot will form on the underside of blocks placed above active fires or campfires.

Leaves will fall and accumulate below trees over time. These leaves can accumulate into piles that grow larger over time. Leaf piles come for leaves of all the different tree variants in the game.

In real-life, if you leave a patch of grass land unattended and unmaintained, small unwanted plants can begin growing amongst the grass. These unwanted plants, called "weeds" are often not preferred and are manually removed. This mod introduces a similar weed growth mechanism into the game. Walking through thick weeds can even cause minor damage or slow you down.

The mod introduces a new type of climbing plant called "ivy". They can quicky grow and naturally spread over vertical surfaces.

Snowy weather in cold biomes can cause icicles to form on the under-side of tree leaves and other blocks. They can also form in other areas in the world with cold weather.

When snowing, there is a chance for block surfaces and small plants to get frosted and turn into a greyish color. The mod also introduces some new "frosted" block variants like the frosted glass. These blocks lose their "frost" effect when exposed to light sources.

This is a new block with a feature that helps build traps and such. During cold weather, water exposed to the atmosphere can tend turn into a new form of ice called "thin ice". These thin ice blocks can crack and break when a player stands over it, helping build creative traps.

In the vanilla game, you can strip logs by right-clicking on them with an axe. With this mod installed, doing this will actually cause the log to drop its bark. The bark is used for various crafting recipes or decorations.

Using the recipe given above, players can craft a "flower crown". It is a cosmetic headwear that can have enchantments applied on it.
The Immersive Weathering mod, as the name suggests, introduces many new features that will actually make your in-game world age with you, over time. With these features, blocks on the older builds in your world can develop moss, cracks or become sandy the longer they have existed. This helps give an ideas of passage of time and nostalgia within your world.
