NetherEx Mod

NetherEx, short for Nether Expansion, brings new content into the Nether dimension. This mod takes the Nether dimension to the next level by revamping it with new biomes, mobs, blocks, and items, all meticulously crafted to deliver a fresh and engaging gameplay experience.

First and foremost, the mod introduces some biome variety into the Nether. In the 1.12.2 version, this dimension is nothing but a jagged, hard-to-navigate wasteland made of netherrack. The introduction of new biomes with their own new terrain blocks helps add detail to the Nether.

As you explore through the new Nether biomes, some new Nether-exclusive features are bound to catch your eye. You will come across a new mob with a spinning animation. Get closer to them to find out more. You will also notice some white vine-like plants growing on the Nether ceiling. Some small, detailed structures will also appear here and there.

Last but certainly not least, the most noticeable change this mod introduces - improved terrain generation. You’ll see that the Nether now has land masses that appear as layered islands. Each island could belong to a different biome than the one above or beneath it. Nevertheless, this new terrain is way more fun to explore than the vanilla jagged landscape.
