Vista Mod

There are plenty of mods that introduces televisions, surveillance camera and other similar items into the game, but nothing comes closer to the Vista mod. This mod introduces televisions and cameras that can put any similar mod to shame. Let us take a look at why.

Televisions

Using the recipe given above, one can craft a television block. This block has a screen which will turn on if the block receives a redstone signal. The ON status of a television is determined by the color stripes on it. When the television is OFF, it shows nothing - just a blank dark screen.

The size of a television screen is not limited to just 1x1. You can place multiple screens in any square configuration (2x2, 3x3, 4x4, etc.) and the multiple screens will merge to form one large screen. Only one of the television has to be powered by redstone in order for all merged screens to turn ON.

The mod introduces a collection of different cassettes that you can play on the televisions introduces by the mod. To insert a cassette into a television, simply right-click on a ON television with a cassette.

View Finder (Camera)

Using the recipe given above, once can craft an item called the "view finder". These are basically cameras that the player can place down to observe a specific area.

Once a view finder is placed down, you can right-click on it to enter its "adjustment" mode. You can look around from the camera perspective and use the mouse scroll wheel to adjust the field of view. Once the required configuration is obtained, right-click to lock the configuration, indicated by the lock/unlock sign. Sneak to exit the camera view.

Connect view finders to televisions

Using the recipe shown in the image above, one can craft an item called the "hollow cassette". It is crafted using a Cassette and an Echo Shard. Right-click on a view finder with this cassette to set the input feed. Then you can insert his cassette into a television and it will display the camera feed on its screen in real-time. You can even see yourself on the screen, as shown above.
