Visually Waterlogged Texture Pack

Give water-loggable blocks a wet appearance. Add more design, detail and life to your builds!

The Visually Waterlogged texture pack makes waterlogged blocks actually appear damp and wet. A small change for those who pay attention to detail.

Make Blocks Wet

The change is pretty simple. When stairs, slabs, fences and walls are waterlogged, they textures appear to get damped, showing that they are wet. Note that, bringing a block into direct contact with water does not make them appear damp. You have to manually waterlog the block.

Detailing Scope

Let us say you have a wooden floor that extends into a water body, like shown in the image above. By replacing the blocks on the edges with stairs/slabs and then waterlogging them, you can make the edges appear wet. A small detailing element that surely will grab attention.

The Wetness Effect

The feature works well with all sorts of blocks that actually can get damped. In the case of wooden blocks, the effect seems pretty accurate. In the case of blocks like stone slabs and such, the effect still somehow makes sense, but not in everyone's opinion.

Blocks that technically cannot get "wet", but fall into the stair, slab, fence or wall category will be affected too. The texture pack achieves the wetness effect by adding an overlay to all waterlogged stairs, slabs, fences and walls. While this holds accurate for wooden blocks, it might seem nonsensical in the case of stone blocks. We can expect the developer to consider this in a later update.

Conclusion

Overall, the pack implements a simple idea in a very clever manner. All water-loggable blocks simple gets an overlay added onto their textures. The level of detail you can achieve with this is fully in your control and it is always worth it to give the pack a try.
