aleki's Nifty Ships Mod

There are many mods that add ships, boats and other types of water transportation to the game. But amongst them, aleki's Nifty Ships mod stands out due to the sheer amount of detail and the impressive amount of realism achieved. The boats/ships added by this mod will not only help with transportation, but also gives you the opportunity to create a fun and engaging gameplay experience.

Small boats will help you with travel. But these are not the only boats added by the mod. You will come across larger unfinished ship variants. These ship variants will have a lot more features compared to these small boats. The tutorial below shows you how to make one on your own.

This larger ship has some aspects of realism to it. The ship itself will react to the wind and tends to move in one direction. You can lower the anchor to make the ship stationary. Strategic use of the sailcloth will allow you to travel as required.

You will also notice some icons that appear when you pint your cursor at certain areas on your finished ship. These icons allow you to place blocks like crafting tables, smithing tables and chests onto the ship.

You can also place cannons onto your ship. Simply put in a cannon ball and ignite the cannon using flint & steel to shoot. You can shoot other ships to take them down. This opens up opportunities for a new combat scenario amongst you and your friends on multiplayer servers.
