Larion World Generation Mod

Larion is a Minecraft Java Edition mod that reshapes the world itself — altering terrain shape, cave systems, and biome layout to create otherworldly, dreamlike vistas. It's built for players who want every horizon to feel like a real discovery.

Larion adjusts the world height to span from -128 up to Y=512, enabling towering peaks, deep canyons, and cave systems far beyond vanilla's scale. Builders and explorers alike gain an entirely new vertical canvas to work with.

Oceans in Larion are true, vast, infinite expanses with continents and islands of varying sizes — not just decorative dividers. Spawning on a tiny island simply means you're far from the mainland, rewarding exploration with a genuine sense of scale.

Larion replaces vanilla's random biome blobs with temperature zones arranged in vertical bands, creating a far more natural geographic feel. Reworked terrain erosion produces unique landshapes that feel like a real fantasy continent.

Rivers are long, meandering, and carve deep valleys through mountain regions, occasionally tunneling straight through solid terrain. A special domain warp technique deforms terrain horizontally, producing dramatic cliff faces and smooth stone-to-surface gradients on steep hills.

Larion supports Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge on Minecraft versions 1.19.x through 1.21.4 and works well alongside biome-adding mods and datapacks. However, it is incompatible with mods that alter density functions, including Terralith, Tectonic, Big Globe, and Cascades.

Use Distant Horizons or Voxy with world pre-generation to appreciate the terrain's full scale right from the start. For performance, mods like C2ME, Noisium, Faster Random, and FerriteCore help offset the added world generation complexity.

Larion installs easily via the Modrinth App with any supported mod loader. Since the mod is in active development, future updates will change world generation — always start a fresh world after updating to avoid broken chunk borders.
