Dreamlike Visuals

The goal of the Fantasy shader pack is not realism or enhancing vanilla. The goal of the pack is to make your game look and feel like a magical wonderland. And needless to day, the pack achieves this quite well.

Sky Detail

The above comparison slider compared the day and night time skies. At all times, the sky has a "bubbly" feeling to it. The smooth clouds feel fluffy, even though they are blocky. The sky gradients also appear a lot more vibrant .

Reimagined Vs Unbound

Just like with parent Complementary shader pack, Fantasy too, has two presets - Reimagined and Unbound. The Reimagined preset sways more towards the vanilla-feel of the game, while the Unbound preset focuses more on realism. The change can be noticed in the water and clouds.

Night Effects

The night sky appears to be heavily cyan-indigo tinted. The sky gradient and fog effects make night-time feel truly different from the day. At night-time, the sky also gets filled with stars.

Auroras and Shooting Stars

As midnight arrives, you will notice auroras and shooting stars appearing in the sky. The sky also appears to have blue-pink gradients, with stars filled in them, making the night-time look and feel like a fairy-tale.

PBR Features

The Nether

When it comes to the Nether, the classic Nether fog/smoke introduced by the Complementary shader pack can be seen in action. There is no other noticeable difference introduced by the Fantasy shader pack itself.

The End

The End sky now has a supermassive blackhole looking upon the entirety of the End dimension. The End sky also is filled with stars and has a purple gradient.

Performance

When it comes to performance, you can expect the same performance that you get with the Complementary shader pack. On our testing on a mid-end system, the pack provided 30-40 FPS. The pack can officially be classified as a mid to high-end shader pack. The pack also provided some presets that can be used to obtain smoother gameplay on low end devices. The slider below compared the lowest Potato preset against the highest Ultra preset.

As you can see, although some compromises have to be made, the pack still provides beautiful visuals even with the Potato preset.
