Raids:Enhanced Mod

Level up villager Raids! Face new bosses and obtain valuable items in return!

When a player with the "Bad Omen" effect walks into a village, he triggers a raid. This basically curses the village, causing pillagers and other related mobs to be summoned in waves. Their goal is to finish every villager. As the player, your goal is to resist the pillager attacks and take them down, which will earn you the "Hero of the Village" title.

Do you feel like raids are too easy to face? If the answer is yes, the Raids:Enhanced mod is for you. As the name suggests, this mod basically "enhances" raids, basically making them more challenging. And the mod does so by introducing some new features. Let us take a look at them in detail.

The Raider Drill

The Raider Drill

The Raider Drill

Underground Machine

This is the first mini-boss. They appear during Level 2 raids. While it technically is not a mob, it still posses a great level of threat and can deal/take damage. They occasionally show up to the surface for a few seconds, which offers you a small window to attack the machine. They summon 2-3 illagers when they surface. The Raider Drill has a unique health system. It has a total of 5 HP, but you need to strike it three times to deal 1 damage.

Golem Of Last Resort

Robotic Monstrosity

The Golem Of Last Resort is a reinforced robotic golem that appear during Level 3 raids. It has the ability to break blocks, so you cannot hide inside structures. And the golem is immune to projectiles and other long-ranged attacks. That means, for dealing with this monstrosity, you need to well prepare yourself for intense close-range melee combat. One you beat the golem, you will receive a cannon as a reward.

The Zapper

Electric Wielding Illager

A simple-looking illager that wields an electric staff. The Zapper is summoned during Level 4 raids. He has a unique attack style that involved electric pulses and lighting. He uses his staff and emit electricity and zap enemies using it.

He has two main attack styles. One is a direct electric pulse that can be dodges, the other is a area-based attack, that can take down several opponents at once. Once you defeat the zapper, you will receive his staff as a reward

The Raider Blimp

Surprise from above!

The Raider Blimp appear during Level 5 raids. They float a couple of blocks over the village and the 2-3 illagers inside will continuously drop bombs and shoot cannon at the village and the villagers. They can target up to seven enemies at once.

A tip for beating the raider blimp is that they are blind to areas that are diagonally above them. Use this to your advantage. Defeating them drops blimp parts, which you can use to craft your own blimp.

Two New Weapons

Zapper's Staff and Handheld Cannon

Along with the new mini-bosses, the mod also introduces two new weapons into the game. Let us take a look at both of them.

The Zapper's Staff

The Zapper's Staff

The Zapper's Staff

Wield electricity and summon lighting

This staff is dropped by the Zapper when you defeat him. Wielding the staff gives you pretty much all powers of the Zapper. You can now use electricity to zap your enemies or to summon lighting strikes.

Handheld Cannon

Handheld Cannon

Handheld Cannon

Shoot projectiles that explode on impact

This weapons is dropped upon defeating the Golem Of Last Resort. You can hold it in your hand and right-click to shoot projectiles. These projectiles create an explosion at their point of impact. These explosion do not break blocks and damage the terrain, but will deal damage to entities.

Player Blimp

You own mini-plane!

Upon defeating the Raider Blimp, a Blimp Part will be dropped. You can combine this Blimp Part with a boat to craft your own player blimp. Simply place it on the ground and right click to enter. Press the space-bar to float up and use the navigation keys for horizontal movement.

You can use projectile weapons while being seated inside the player blimp. You can even choose to use the handheld cannon, which will help mimic the attack style of the Raider Blimp.

Conclusion

If you are someone who deals with villager raids regularly, you must know that they are not very challenging. If you like to challenge yourself by making raids harder, and get rewarded for doing the same, the Raids:Enhanced mod is a must have.
