Realism is something that all shader pack developers strive to achieve. The goal is to replicate real life in Minecraft with as much accuracy as possible. Complete realism in the game has not been able to achieved yet. The Voyager 2.0 shader pack is one such attempt at realism.

To better showcase the capabilities of this amazing shader pack, all screenshots showcased in this article were captured using a combination of the Voyager 2.0 shader pack and the Patrix 32x resource pack.

The lighting effects added by this pack feels real and crisp. Blocks that reflect sunlight have a bloom effect on them. This particular combination of high intensity bloom effect at areas with direct sunlight is the first factor of realism observed in this shader pack.

Lighting Effects

Light reacts well to the 3D surface textures of Patrix

The light effects at day time compared to that at night time are completely different from one another. There is enough light at night time to see your surroundings clearly. But looking at a light source directly will make everything around appear dimmer, just like in real life.

Effects added to water surfaces look a lot more real compared to other competing shader packs. The color of the water well complements the surroundings. The reflections on the water surface are deformed in a very realistic manner.

While most shader packs focus on only improving visuals in the Overworld, this pack pushes it a bit further into the Nether. The Nether looks a lot more hell-like with this pack enabled. In combination with Patrix, the visuals appear a lot more scarier than it actually is.
