Mods for Minecraft 1.17.1

LazyDFU is a startup performance mod for newer versions of Minecraft. In recent versions of Minecraft especially the startup times have gone up a large amount. It used to be the game could load up in under a second and not take up many cores, now the game even in vanilla (it is much worse in modded, especially in MC Forge instances) takes a long and in recent versions the CPU also goes up very high unless you have too little ram for the number of cores you have (we will cover why in a bit). LazyDFU, and similar mods, fix and reduce these issues. This mod is very lightweight (just overwriting a method with a blank version) and highly compatible (the old version works from 1.14-1.18.2 with basically no changes).Around 1.14 (when the mod came out, the changes are almost certainly older possibly pre-1.13) Mojang was doing massive changes to the internal world generator, and Mojang needed to migrate older worlds. So in order to do this they run the worlds through DFU and sets rules to convert the worlds (even if you do not convert any of them). This Makes it slower and takes up all your cores no matter how many you have in most cases (except when there are very few worlds or you have a powerful CPU but not much ram and the system chocks on that and just does not take full advantage of the CPU). Much of the caching code in the game is inefficient, especially when caching when most worlds do not need to be cached. This mod overwrites the method that tells the game to run these with very simple bytecode manipulation of just overwriting the method telling the game to run these rules. Some versions do other stuff. The mod also seems to make the game run faster even after the loading screen initialises (though this could be due to other mods and fabric and newer versions of forge even are pretty good at this).In 1.19 Mojang made changes to the server side which limits the need for LazyDFU on the server, but the client still needs it more and even than before the issue was still primarily with the client.IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE: The main changes that LazyDFU and some other similar mods change make loading old worlds unstable. If you want to load an old world it is suggested you disable this mod. Though LazyDFU does officially let you load DFU rules when needed, it just skips the cache. It is likely to be compatible with most mods, though it may have some overwrite conflicts with other DFU (Data Fixer Upper) related mods.Many similar or complementary mods exist, including a partially official fork called Lazy DataFixerUpper(LazyDFU) [FORGE] which is for MC Forge, though makes a few changes.

You’re in Grave Danger is a mod that has gravestones with cool abilities. When you die, instead of all your stuff dropping, in most cases, a gravestone will generate and you will get a message saying where you died coordinates wise and you will also get a custom compass which points to that location.When you find where you die you can either right-click (or whatever your mouse binds are) or sneak and you will get your items back and some XP, some experience, and a mob head. The mob head says the name of the user who died and will also show the mob head. Which can be helpful when you are on a multiplayer server, such as Genesis Plus. You will also be able to pick up the gravestone and put it somewhere else for decoration. The graves often also adapt to the blocks it is on and can also waterlog. When you get your items back you even get them in the same order in the inventory, and it has integration with many mods such as Trinkets, curios, inventurio, the Graveyard, Extra Inventory, Backslot, and BigInv. One issue you will have is if you mine a lot of gravestones you will get lots of compasses which cant be stacked with each other. There is also a new enchantment called soulbound and a few commands added by default (mostly for moderation).Graves are preferable to dropping items as items often disappear. There were other similar gravestone mods such as GraveStone Mod or Universal Graves (to a lesser extent) or Gravestones (written by Modrinth’s owner), though while these mods each have their own advantages, YIGD is in general more advanced for some things unless you need things like a list. There are also other mods that do other things, such as summon a custom entity which needs to be hit to get items, but these often require multiple hits and in some cases also are not as good at getting items back, and worst of all these entities often disappear. Gamerule KeepInventory is in vanilla or a similar mod like Keep Inventory, but many players do not like that as they could consider it cheating. However officially this mod is only for Fabric. So if you need MC Forge you can use the other mods.The mod requires Cloth Config and uses it extensively. The author wants almost everything to be configurable and considers missing config entries as missing features and not bugs. There is an extensive configuration page, it can be used to do things like change the command perms, disable the commands, disable the enchantment, and other stuff. They have a whole wiki for the config and modpack integration, and other stuff.The author is always open to new feature and config requests on their GitHub (in the wiki) issues. Also on Github is the source code, and the mod is MIT licence which means you are able to freely fork it and make your own changes so long as you provide credit to the original authors.

Twigs is a block and building mod for Minecraft. Despite the name, Twigs are only a small part of the mod and do not hold that big of a value compared to many of the other items. There are also pebbles (which can be thrown and reused so are pretty cool) and seashells and flowers and other objects that are a smaller version of something bigger in the game or a new creative idea. The Twigs mod is in general a blocks and building mod which adds a large variety of new blocks of building various things with multiple variants and multiple different types of material.Most of the content of the mod can be found in its own creative tab called the Twigs tab. Clicking on the tab by itself simply shows everything, but on the left, there are 4 sub-tabs which can be used to filter items or blocks by type. The 4 subtypes are:Natural – Stuff related to wood or plants    Stone – Stuff made out of Stone variants but not pebbles, just blocks    Decorations – Things like lanterns for decoration.    Miscellaneous – Used for everything elseThis can be helpful for sorting and It says Twigs > Sub-Name at the top where it normally says the tab name. To go back to the general tab which contains all the items just click on the main tab.Many of the stone types have moss variants and are in many different types such as Stairs, fences, walls, slabs, and others. There are multiple stone types to choose from, and many of them have bright colours coming from them.The main type of wood is stripped bamboo. The mod adds both Bamboo related blocks and leaves and stripped bamboo-related stuff such asFences,    Bundles    PlanksSlabsPressure     platesBoatsetc.There is also rocky dirt, but that does not really do much.There are 3 types of partly unique blocks, the Paper Lanterns (which are a little like Vanilla lanterns but white and can be fixed with flowers to make decorated versions), the Lamps, and the Tables (Which are compatible with Every Compat so can be used with wood from other mods such as Terrestria). The lanterns and lamps glow in the dark.Finally, there are brick, moss brick, wax, copper, weathered and oxidised copper, amethyst and other new variants of blocks. Extended from the vanilla materials.It requires Frame API. Frame API is commonly used with a few other similar or related mods.

Terrestria is a massive blocks and biomes mod which adds a massive collection of new blocks and biomes. There are many different blocks added from the various different types of trees and saplings added. It is one of the bigger content mods for Fabric and is a Fabric/Quilt exclusive. It adds many new types of trees including Pink Trees and Rainbow trees. There are also many other types of plants such as cacti. There is one cactus which you can build free form into a bunch of different shapes, which is an improvement over the extremely rigid vanilla cactus. Under good conditions, these trees can grow within seconds without the need for any bone meal. Many of the trees are very tall and have lots of leave and many of them are in special shapes. There is also a tool which can flip logs, so if you want a log on the side all you need to do is make this tool and right-click the log you want to flip on the side and it will flip the log onto the side. There are also a large number of underground plats which can stick out of the water.Many of these plants and trees can be found within the large number of biomes that the mod spawns in. They spawn quite often, upon loading the mod in an existing world, after just a tiny bit of moving to find a new testing spot I just happened to run into one of the biomes by chance, meaning they are quite plentiful. One of the coolest natural wonders you can find in the mod is the volcano, which we came across it is massive and has a lot of lava.Outside of plants, there are also a few stone variants which are mostly dark but look cool.Many of the wood and stone variants have different gear (e.g. planks and chests etc) associated with them to add a new collection of gear. It is also known to be compatible with Every Compat so can be used to make other items from the wood variants based on the other mods installed.This mod may not have as many biomes as Biomes o Plenty but in many ways, the biomes are of higher quality and provide more details per biome and the biomes are generally more interesting. There are still over 17 biomes in new versions and there are a lot of sister mods such as Traverse, Cinderscapes, and Companion. Additionally, the owner, Coderbot, is also the creator of Iris Shaders. You can view their wiki to get more information about each specific biome or images or contributing information.

Charm of Undying is a mod which makes it so you can use the Totem of Undying Item in a Trinket slot rather than your offhand. Normally in Minecraft, the Totem of undying goes in your offhand which makes it so that you can not use another item in the offhand. The offhand is normally able to use things like Shields, Swords, Fireworks, and Blocks when Inventory is full, as other items. The Totem of Undying does not need to be actually interacted with making it good use for a Trinket. You will get a trinket slot above for the Charm and be able to put the charm there and it will show up on your neck like a neckless preventing you from death. It is a good vanilla + mod.Charm of Undying works with Curios API and Trinkets (Fabric). Charm of Undying is available for FabricMC, QuiltMC, and MinecraftForge.

Trinkets is a trinket mod for Minecraft FabricMC. It allows you to add Trinkets to your player. Trinkets are alternate slots (similar to armour slots) that allow you to add alternate pieces of gear which can do things and that modders can take advantage of. It is similar to Curios API, however, it is a bit simpler and more in line with Vanilla but a little less compact and without the default slots and example trinkets. By themselves, trinkets do not do anything but instead require mods to make use of it and come up with trinkets and a lot of trinkets may not look this good.An example is the Charm of Undying mod which adds a custom slot for its mod which allows users to add the totem of undying while treeing the offhand from the totem of undying.Existing vanilla items can also be turned into Trinkets and be given their own abilities, such as in the Charm of Undying  mod, and the items can have descriptions.Trinkets are officially only for FabricMC, Curios API is arguably a better mod if the mods support it and has recently been ported to Fabric, though is not on many older versions for Fabric.

Small ships mod adds a collection of ships to Minecraft. There are a few main ships: the Cog, the War Galley, the Drakkar, the Dhow, and the Rowboat. The main difference between them is in size, but they also have some feature differences among them, such as how many people each ship may hold. There are variants of boats for different types of wood, e.g Oak Cog, and Birch Cog. The wood variants however seem to act the same as each other.The boats control differently than your average vanilla boats. While vanilla boats just as you go forward and backward, Small ships require you to modify things like the sail. You press R to open and close the sale and then J to increase and K to decrease the sail which helps affect the speed. By default, the ships go very slow without using the sale, but with the sail, they can go very fast and can also go fast with more people. You may also change your 3rd Person (F5) view by using your scroll wheel. To dismount an entity from the ship, crouch(shift) and right-click the entity and if you want to dismount all the entities from the ship, you need to crouch and right-click the ship.Your Ships can have inventory, just press I to enter the inventory of your ship and store your items. You also use crouch and right-click to open the inventory from outside your ship.You can also have cannons on your ship. To add a cannon to your ship just right-click the ship with a cannon and the cannon will be mounted. To shoot the cannon you look towards the cannon and press space. You will need round shots (an item in the mod) and gunpowder in the ship’s inventory to shoot cannons. The number of cannons depends on the size of the ship you have.New versions of the Mod (2.x) is still in the alpha stage so has a lot to be added. The release (1.x) versions of the mod are still on 1.16.5, but there are newer alpha versions 1.16.5, 1.17.1, 1.18.2, and 1.19.2, for both MC Forge and Fabric.The mod is All Rights Reserved but you are allowed to put it in modpacks, but you must link back to the page and you are not allowed to make money on the modpack.

Marium's Soulslike Weaponry is a Minecraft mod for FabricMC which adds many new bosses and weaponry to your game. Fabric is not known for its boss mods, this is one of the best boss and weapons mods for fabric. There are also multiple different structures around the overworld, nether, and end which house some of the bosses. Each boss has its unique abilities which help them stand out from other bosses and mobs. The Decaying King has a Sword Slam where he has a big sword and does a big swing which does a lot of damage but takes time to cool down and is not too hard to prevent. He can also shoot fireballs and explosions. This boss is found in the nether.The old Champion’s Remains is a giant Skeleton (Similar to the Mutant Skeleton from the Mutant Creatures Mod) with a Sword and shield. The shield is used for Defence and can also be used to attack, it can be used to knock back enemies very far. He also hits with his sword which has a very long range and does a lot of damage.Frenzied Shade is a similar-looking mob but is purple and has claws that attack and move very quickly. This boss also can float underground.Monarch of Chaos is a Wither Skeleton Reaper-type character who shoots skulls with lightning at the target and lashes out at things with combos. He can also shoot a large number of projectiles such as tridents and moonlight or even arrows and shulkers. It can also teleport.The Returning Knight is one of the most powerful bosses in the whole mod. He can summon a random amount of minions to fight for it. They can also charge and slam nightfall, this attack does a huge amount of damage but takes a long time to do so can pretty easily be avoided. This boss also has the ability to blind and knock you back very far. He can also move his mace and his mace creates so many vibrations that it moves surrounding mobs.Soulmass is a mob that heals itself and shoots laser beams at its enemies and protects its owner. It also exploded upon death and weakens and slows hostile mobs nearby. There are also smaller mobs such as the Withered Demon, Ghosts, and Chungus, some of them even come with gear that can be received when killed. Potion effects are also in the mod. Bloodthirsty is similar to wither, but when the user is attacked it heals them. Decay weakens your armour over time and also increases the amount of damage you take while being attacked by 20%. Posture Break significantly slows down anything that has it. Permafrost causes mobs to slowly get slower and if a mob dies with this it creates an explosion that can spread the potion effect to nearby mobs. The mod has lots of weapons and guns, some of them even have cool custom models. However, most do not do all that much more damage than vanilla gear. The bosses and structures are the most impressive part of the mod. This mod is one of the most extensive boss mods for Fabric and newer versions of Minecraft and is similar to Chocolate Quest, Twilight Forest, and OreSpawn. They do not yet have a Forge version but it is planned. GeckoLib and Fabric API are required for the mod to work and the mod also works with Better combat. The mod is also available in Chinese and Russian and there is extensive documentation on the CurseForge page.
