Vanilla Plus is another shader pack created by the renowned shader pack developer RRe36. As the name suggests, this pack aims to improve upon the in-game visuals, while staying faithful to the vanilla feel of the game.

By accessing the shader settings, you can adjust the profile of the pack between default and fancy. The "default" setting is pretty much the same look as the vanilla game, but with some improved shadows and fog effects, while the "fancy" setting enables realistic water and lighting effects.

The pack works well on mid-end systems. Low-end systems might face some issues, but the shader settings provides options that you can adjust to improve the game performance.

The pack also allows you to choose between a few available color profiles for the shader. Three of them are shown in the above image for comparison. Although the color changes are minor, they can be used to well adjust the mood for the game.

The night sky added by this pack is remarkably good. The sky is filled with starts and they blend in well with the grey-blue gradient sky. The below image also shows the realistic lighting effects added by the pack. The light sources in the village react with their surroundings in a realistic manner, while the river below reflects the light with realism and detail.
