Mo' Villages

Minecraft offers you a seemingly infinite world to explore, and this opens up an opportunity for exploration. One aspect that adds life and depth to the game is the presence of villages. However, vanilla Minecraft often leaves players craving for more diversity and excitement in village generation. Thankfully, there's a solution - Mo' Villages, a remarkable mod that expands the scope of villages in Minecraft. In this blog post, we'll delve into the features and benefits of Mo' Villages and how it can enhance your Minecraft gameplay.Discover New Villages in biomes you've never seen villages generate before: Mo' Villages takes village generation to a whole new level by introducing villages in a wide range of biomes. Say goodbye to the monotony of only finding villages in specific biomes and get ready to encounter villages in unexpected and exciting locations. Whether you're wandering through a dense jungle or exploring the depths of a mushroom island, Mo' Villages ensures that villages are scattered throughout different biomes, offering fresh experiences and opportunities.Embrace Biome Variants for Unique Village Designs: With Mo' Villages, the variety doesn't stop at new biomes. This mod introduces additional biome variants for villages, transforming the appearance and architecture of these settlements. Each biome variant brings its own unique charm, ensuring that no two villages are alike. From cozy wooden huts nestled in lush forests to stilted houses on the edge of swamps, the possibilities are endless. These biome variants make each village feel more authentic and immersive, adding a sense of realism to your Minecraft world.Increased Villager Diversity and Trading Opportunities: Vanilla villages can often feel limited in terms of the number and variety of villagers available. Trading Post [Forge & Fabric]

Trading Post [Forge & Fabric] is a mod which adds  a single block called the Trading post into the game. The trading post can be used to trade with multiple villagers at a time from 1 place.  This can be very useful for when you want to see all the trades from a nearby village but do not want to waste your time looking at all the trades offered by all of the villagers and instead want to speed up the process and trade with multiple at once and see all the trades of the nearby villagers. The Trading post is the only block added by the mod, you place it down and you will see an emerald. The emerald will lay down flat by default when there are no villagers within the preset radius for the villagers, when there are villagers in the correct place, you will see an animation with the emerald going up. This is similar to the Visual Workbench mod by the same author and uses some code from Quark. When there is a floating emerald that means there are nearby trades. Just right click the Trading Post and then start making trades. The trading table works with many custom villagers from other mods such as the Quackling from the Ducklings mod. It does not work for piglins bartering though, for that you will need a separate mod called Bartering Station. This mod was inspired by a similar trading post block from Extra Utilities. The radius of the accepted villagers can be customised by editing a config file. The config file can be found by looking in the config folder or by doing /config showfile <modid> and then selecting whether you want the client or server config. If you are on MC Forge you can configure in game with the Config Menus for Forge mod.The mod requires PuzzleLib and Forge Config API for Fabric like many of the other mods by the same creator. LunaPixelStudios (one of the biggest modpack creators) is also involved in this mod.

Moonlight Lib

Moonlight Lib (or Selene) is a set of utilities that offer a variety of specific features, such as:Dynamic resource pack utilitiesThe ability to register dynamic block sets,Block Colour APICustom map markersDynamic Villager AICustom first and third-person animationsGrindstone achievement triggersSoft Fluid SystemDispenser utilitiesMulti-Loader utilities (For Making mods on multiple loaders). These features provide modders with an easy way to create dynamic runtime resource packs, and data packs, resprite and retexture existing textures, register blocks that depend on a specific block set, detect any arbitrary modded block DyeColour, add map decoration and markers, modify villager schedules, create a custom first and third person animations, add custom triggers for grindstone items, manage multiple fluid containers items, register dispenser behaviours, and develop for the forge and fabric loaders. Documentation and examples for how to use Moonlight Lib can be found in the javadocs and example folder included with the mod.Moonlight lib makes modding in general much easier. With its extensive Tag system (known as types) you can easily generate many new types of blocks and group blocks together which can be used for things like crafting and data packs and general grouping, similar to how you are able to group different woods and stones together. The tag system while may make categorisation easier, does make registration harder and means it must be done at a particular time after Moonlight has scanned. This allows full sets to be registered. The Tag system is why many of Moonlight’s most popular mods, such as Carpeted Stairs & Slabs and Every Compat (Wood Good) are compatibility mods designed to make existing mods types work together better. The Block Colour API allows you to easily have similar blocks that are simply a different colour. Moonlight comes with a lot of other artistic and animation (similar to GeckoLib) modules making it good if you really want to customise the game’s appearance.Other great modules include the Villager AI Module (which allows you to control the AI of villagers and modify the schedules), Data Based Fluids which allow you to make Fluids that work well and have many cool features and customisation (such as being able to be put in buckets and bottles) that is registered via data but can still easily be overwritten via Forge fluids On MC Forge. One of the main advantages is the ability to easily make mods which work on both MC Forge and Fabric quite easily with their MultiLoader tools. It is similar to Architectury and even uses ArchLoom for its official build kit (and has some architectury injects) and but can also be used with other similar templates, including the unrelated but similarly named MultiLoader Template by Jarredll08.It is in many ways better than Architectury based on the actual new stuff it allows you to do being more advanced than those by Architectury while providing many of the same most important hooks that Architectury does. There are many mods of various categories which use Moonlight, such as Every Compat and MmmMmmMmmMmm (Target Dummy). If you are a developer there is also information and javadocs and examples on how to make your own mods with Moonlight. One big worry though is that the mod is Licensed All Rights Reserved which may limit your abilities with the mod.

Roughly Enough Professions (REP)

Roughly Enough Professions (REP) is an addon for Roughly Enough Items (REI) that allows players to access information about the Blocks/Block Entities/Workbenches needed for villagers to do their job. To access the panel, press the REI key (default is U) with an emerald or a villager spawn egg, or simply right-click the villager. Most villagers will need only one block, while others may require more. This mod works with vanilla and modded villagers, as long as they are similar to the vanilla villagers in terms of information. To find out which mod a villager is from, press shift on the profession name. This mod is not necessary unless you have many modded villagers or do not already know what they do. For an equivalent mod in Just Enough Items, try Just Enough Professions. For villager trades, a separate mod called Roughly Enough Trades is required.Roughly Enough Professions is very similar to its Just Enough Items counterpart Just Enough Professions, just with a few slight tweaks to accommodate roughly enough items. It is written by the same people.
