A realistic shaderpack themed around the spring season. Ray-traced lighting and Distant Horizons compatible.

Each shader pack comes with their own aesthetics. Some focus on realism, while others focus on certain genres. Spring v2 (or Chun v2) is a shader pack that introduces its own unique look to the game. This pack is themed around spring season. Let us take a look at some features of this pack in detail.

Ray Traced Lighting
Achieve peak realistic light behavior!
When using the shader pack with Iris shaders, you have the option to enable path/ray traced light behavior in the shader settings. When it comes to light behavior, ray-tracing is the epitome of realism. If this setting is too resource-demanding, you can opt not to use it.

Colored Lights and Shadows
Light and shadow color depends on source and path!
Alongside ray-tracing, you will find the option to enable colored light. Once enabled, the color of light will depend on its source. In the image above, it can be noticed that soul fire emits blue light, while regular fire emits orange light. The color of shadows will depends on their path.

Volumetric Light and Clouds
Three-dimensional behavior
Volumetry is a shader effect that makes light rays look like they interact with particles in the air. This three-dimensional behavior is also applied to clouds, which will make them appear soft and fluffy.

Volumetric Fog
Realistic fog behavior
Just like with the light and clouds, the fog in this shader pack behaves in a three-dimensional manner. Due to the volumetric fog, distant features will appear like a silhoutte, with their intensity depending on the distance from the camera. Closer features will appear clearer, while far-away features appear more unclear.

Weather Effects
Wet blocks and puddles
When it rains, block surfaces exposed to the rain appear to be wet, which makes them reflective. Likewise, these wet blocks will also appear to have puddles forming on them as rain droplets fall on them.

PBR surfaces
Inter-block light interaction
PBR is a feature that makes block surfaces appear to have details on them. These details make light interact with them as if there were bumps and crevices on the surface. This shader pack supports PBR and for the effects to be visible, a PBR based resource pack must be installed.
The shader pack introduces realistic water visuals. For the water surface, you can choose between two different behaviors - Wave Patterns and Wave Parallax. Opting for "wave patterns" simply makes water surfaces have waves on them, while "wave parallax" makes these waves appear more directional and parallel.

Underwater Visuals
Fog, refraction, caustics, etc.
The underwater visuals introduced by this pack adds several different immersive effects. You will notice volumetric light rays, refraction, water fog and caustics. Caustics are the wave-like light patterns that appear at the bottom of pools.

Sky Features
Sun, Moon and Stars
The pack also introduces several different features to make the sky look more detailed. A custom sun and moon are introduced. Night sky will also have stars in it. The size and amount of these stars can be configured in the shader pack settings.

Distant Horizons Compatible
The horizon and beyond...
Spring v2 is compatible with Distant Horizons, an LoD mod that allows you to generate LoD chunks. LoD chunks are low-resolution versions of world chunks that can be loaded with little to no impact on performance. With Distant Horizons installed alongside this mod, you will be able to render hundreds of chunks at one, making the visuals more immersive.

Camera Effects
Depth of Field, Motion Blur, etc.
In the shader pack settings, you can enable some shader packs effects. Effects like Depth of Field and Motion Blur will help the game look more immersive. They can also help make in-game screenshots look a lot better.
When it comes to the Nether, all the light effects can be seen in action. A unique feature of the Nether is the volumetric colored fog. Compared to other popular shaders, the nether fog introduced by this packs looks a lot more denser, which makes the environment hard to see. Light emitting blocks also appear to have a bloom effect applied on them.
With this shader pack installed, the End appear to be a lot more purple themed. A purple tint can be noticed on almost all blocks. The sky appears to be of bright purple and a godrays from an unknown source in the sky can be seen in action. In short, the entire End dimension appear a lot more vibrant with a strong purple tint.
Performance wise, the pack provides decent performance on mid-end systems and higher. If you are playing on a system with lower specification, you can try to manually adjust/toggle resource shader effects in the shader pack settings.
Our testing was conducted on a mid-end full AMD laptop: AMD Ryzen 5 series processor and AMD Radeon RX6500M GPU. The pack provided 30-40 fps and no lag or stutter was faced.
